Kenya Lowe- President
Kenya Lowe is a native of Port Huron, Michigan. She graduated from Port Huron Northern High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Deaf Education from Michigan State University.
Lowe was crowned Miss Deaf Michigan, in 1999. She was the first African-American to hold this title. She traveled extensively, giving presentations and workshops to young people and organizations around the state of Michigan on the importance of taking on leadership roles.
She competed in the National Association of the Deaf, Miss Deaf America Pageant in 2000. She received an award for best platform presentation on leadership and placed 6th amongst 30 states.
Lowe is currently employed as an Outreach Manager for AT&T, a fortune 500 company.
She serves as Board member for a number of organizations such as: Deaf Community Advocacy Network, a community advocacy agency, and Michigan Deaf Association. She is also a member of the National Association of the Deaf, and Detroit Black Deaf Advocates.
Lowe LOVES a venti caramel macchiato from Starbuck’s! She also enjoys family time, movies, writing, traveling, shopping, teaching and networking.
A Pageant First
The first Miss Deaf Teen Michigan, Karlee Gruetzner and Mr. Deaf Teen Michigan, Ray McCall will compete in the Mr. and Miss Teen Deaf America Pageant at Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. on March 5-8th.

On April 6th, 2007 the Miss Deaf Michigan Pageant Association launched their new website design.
