Jamie Maes- Miss Deaf Teen Michigan Director

Jamie Maes is a graduate of Lakeview High School. She currently resides in Chesterfield Township, MI.

Maes received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health, as well as an Addiction Studies Certificate from Madonna University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in School Counseling at Oakland University. Her ultimate career goal is to become a Deaf School Counselor.

Miss Jamie Maes competed in the Miss Deaf Michigan pageant in 1999, and won the 1st runner-up title. In 2005 she was a Chaperone at the Miss Deaf Michigan Pageant. In 2006, she was an auditor for the Junior Miss Deaf Michigan Pageant. Currently, she is the Assistant Director for the first Miss Deaf Teen Pageant.

Maes is employed as a Deaf School-to-work coordinator for New Horizons Rehabilitation Services. She trains high school students in job seeking skills, resume development, life skills, social skills, and career planning. Maes works closely with teachers, students, parents, and counselors to help build a bright future for each of her students.

Maes enjoys reading, shopping, and traveling.
