Christine Taylor- Chaperone Coordinator
Christine Taylor was born and raised in the small town of Big Rapids, Michigan. Taylor graduated high school from Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington D.C. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies from University of Vermont. She also received a Master of Science Degree in Deaf Education from McDaniel College.
After living out of state for 10 years, due to school, Taylor decided to return to Michigan to be a role model to Deaf children.
Taylor competed in the Miss Deaf Michigan Pageant in 2005. In 2006, she was Stage Designer for the Junior Miss Deaf Michigan Pageant.
Taylor is currently an American Sign Language instructor at Central Michigan University.
Taylor enjoys reading books, scrapbooking, and making beaded jewelry.
A Pageant First
July 28, 2007 will be the first time in history that Michigan will crown a Deaf Teen Queen.
The first teen pageant will be held at Kalamazoo State Theatre directed by Kendra Rose and Jamie Maes.
Contestants range from ages 13 to 17 and attend Michigan School for the Deaf or mainstreamed highs schools in the state of Michigan.
