Hobbies: Reading, running, dancing and writing poetry.
Favorite Food: Italian food.
Favorite place to shop: Forever 21 and Deb because they do have practical clothes and yet afforable at the same time.
Pet's name: I have one female cat and her name is Dottie.
Best Friends: Devon Noble and Missy VanAlstyne.
Favorite teachers: I didn't have any favorite teachers while I was at RIT, but my favorite teacher from high school was Mrs. Dees.
Family: (Stepdad) David Uhrin; (Mom) Priscilla Uhrin; (Brother) Alex Uhrin; (Dad) Anthony Faino; (Half-Brother) Christopher Faino. I love my Family because they have always supported me all way through my Deafness, with school and friends. and they are always there for me, a phone call away or a e-mail away.
Favorite subject in school: English.
Favorite television show: O.C.
Favorite actor/actress: Jennifer Anstion and Johnny Depp.
Dream vacation: Hawaii and Italy.
Travels: I have traveled to quite a number of States and haven't been out of country yet. I would pick Virginia as my favorite state. It is beautiful and part of my family is there; so I enjoy my time when I visit Virginia.
Favorite Quote: "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today" by James Dean.
Motto/Principle to live by: "You are able to do anything, as long you put your mind to it".
Where I want to be 5 years from now: I see myself finshing up college and getting my B.A. degree in English so I can be a English Teacher for Deaf children. I will probably start a family and get married by then.
Most embarrassing moment: My most embarrassing moment would have been while I was at RIT during SVP. I went to a wrong class and stayed there for half of class before I realized I was in the wrong class. I had to fake that I was another student to avoid being embarrassed anymore further! However, I did inform the teacher that I was in the wrong class and I wasn't the student that he called on. He laughed and said, "It's alright. It happens often."
My role model: My Mom.
Additional things to know about me: I just want to say that I am a very friendly person and I do enjoy talking to new people.
A Pageant First
July 28, 2007 will be the first time in history that Michigan will crown a Deaf Teen Queen.
The first teen pageant will be held at Kalamazoo State Theatre directed by Kendra Rose and Jamie Maes.
Contestants range from ages 13 to 17 and attend Michigan School for the Deaf or mainstreamed highs schools in the state of Michigan.

On April 6th, 2007 the Miss Deaf Michigan Pageant Association launched their new website design.
On our new site we've made it easy for you to access information. Site features include, color themed categories for Miss, Teen and Junior sections.
