Travels: I went to Brazil for 3 weeks to meet my pen pal that I had to written since 5th grade. It was very interesting experience for me because I was in a country that has no English language anywhere and their culture was very different. Good thing my pen pal knew English along with her siblings. I remember during my second week, I was in a restaurant yet again struggling to read menu with my very limited Portuguese vocabulary when a waiter asked me if I wanted their English menu. When I read the English menu, I felt like I had put my glasses on and could read it clearly. I have never forgotten that feeling.

Motto/Principle to live by: Things happened for a reason.

Where I want to be 5 years from now: Teaching Deaf children or be parent advisor to hearing parents with Deaf children and starting on my PhD degree.

Most embarrassing moment: While I was Senior in High School, I visited my friend at Arizona State University . I told my friend that I would meet her in cafeteria for lunch so that I could find out more information about the college in the morning. I walked in the cafeteria and saw a woman sitting back to me with long blonde hair. I walked to her and hugged her from behind. This woman was startled and looked at me. I looked at her and saw that I was hugging wrong person. I looked up and saw my friend sitting across from her laughing. I apologized to this woman and went around the table to hug my friend. I was so embarrassed!

My role model: My sister, Karen Hodgson.

Additional things to know about me: You can reach your goal by working hard. I got both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees by working hard and never giving up. I am currently teaching ASL classes at Central Michigan University .
